How It Works

Viewing & Collection

Johannesburg South — close to Gold Reef City.

Monday–Saturday, 8:00am–5:00pm. Viewing and collection are by appointment only.

We strongly recommend viewing an item before purchasing. If you can't view it yourself, someone else can view it on your behalf. We can also provide additional photos, a video, or a video call of the actual item.

First Come, First Served

Items are strictly first-come, first-served. No hold without the required deposit.

Holding an Item

Maximum hold is 2 weeks.

If the Hold Expires

If the customer doesn't collect/pay within the agreed 2 weeks, the item automatically goes back on sale and the deposit is refunded.

Payment

We accept cash and EFT. Payment isn't required before collection. Once paid, items should be collected within 7 days unless otherwise agreed. For courier deliveries, payment must be received before the courier collects the item.

Courier

Courier delivery is available anywhere in South Africa. The buyer is responsible for courier costs. We can arrange the courier, or the buyer can arrange their own.

Courier Insurance

Courier insurance can be included. If the customer chooses insurance and the item is damaged during transport, The Tent Guy will handle the courier insurance claim.

Returns — Change of Mind

Returns due to a change of mind may be accepted on all purchases, subject to a 10% restocking fee. The item must be returned in the same condition in which it was purchased, and return transport costs are for the buyer's account.

Something Wasn't As Described?

If a customer was unable to view the item and discovers something they weren't aware of, they should contact us before arranging a return. We'll discuss the issue directly with the buyer and work out the best way to resolve it.

If a Return Is Agreed

If we agree that the item is materially different from its description and a return is required, The Tent Guy will cover the reasonable cost of transporting the item back to us. The original delivery/courier cost paid by the buyer will not be refunded.

Condition

Each individual product listing already contains the condition of that specific item, together with actual photos and relevant details.
